Through March 31: Vermilion snapper are closed to harvest in federal waters of the South Atlantic region. Information: SAFMC.net.

Through March 31: Spiny lobster season in Florida. State diving and fishing rules apply. Limits: Carapace minimum length 3 inches; bag limit six per person per day statewide. Information: MyFWC.com.

Through June 1: Black sea bass are closed to harvest in federal waters of the South Atlantic region. Information: SAFMC.net.

Nov. 26: Jonathan Dickinson State Park 10-mile hike with the Tropical Trekkers hiking club. Park entrance fee applies. Call for time and car-pool. Information: 772-419-8130.

Nov. 28-Nov. 30: 11th annual Finest Kind Quickie Sailfish Tournament. Information: 772-223-4110.

Nov. 30: Sebastian Fishing Club meets at 7 p.m. at the North Indian River County Library on C.R. 512 in Sebastian. Speaker: Capt. Jim Ross. Guests welcome. Information: 772-589-1858.

Dec. 1-4: Pirates Cove Resort Sailfish Classic. Information: 772-287-2500.

Dec. 2: Holiday boat parade, Vero Beach. Begins immediately following the 6 p.m. tree-lighting ceremony at Royal Palm Pointe. Boats stage between the bridges and will parade to the Vero Beach City Marina. The captain’s meeting for participants is TBA. Entry: Free.
