Light Tackle day one: Outlaw has lead at 1 p.m.

Outlaw leads the 21 boat field in the 58th annual Light Tackle Sailfish Tournament hosted by the Stuart Sailfish Club at the 1 p.m. mark. With seven fish, they have caught the majority of the 54 fish caug daily.ht. Tom Wichers with four is leading the overall angler category as well.

Following close behind with six fish is Finest Kind Quickie winner Chasin Tail led by Capt. Rob Valko.

Three boats have five each including Challenge with Capt. Jim Hardee, Cowpoke with Capt. Mike Brady and Rough N’It with Capt. Ed Nicolace. Cowpoke and Brady are the defending Light Tackle winners and lead the 10-boat Treasure Coast Sailfish Championship with 23 catches entering the day. Outlaw won the Light Tackle in 2009, but is not in the Championship field this year. Rough N’It includes Light Tackle winning angler Hans Kraaz.

Results can be observed live online at www.stuartsailfishclub.com. Teams will fish through Sunday. Fishing will take place 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. Boats must return to Manatee Pocket by 5 p.m.
